By Brittney Sherman

San Jose based wholesale tile company MIR Mosaic recently purchased a 90k SF building at Butterfield 5 Tech Park. The company will relocate its headquarters to Morgan Hill, expanding their footprint by 25k SF and adding 15 additional jobs to their existing 65-employee headcount. MIR Mosaic will join three other companies operating in the Butterfield 5 Tech Park: Pinnacle Exhibits, Daikin HVAC, and Rudolph and Sletten. Two buildings in the Tech Park remain vacant, Building #4 at 91, 738 SF and Building #5 at 70,305 SF, and are available for sale or lease. The relocation of the company's headquarters, showroom, and warehouse operations to Morgan Hill represents a significant long-term investment in the community and further strengthens the City's growing industrial sector.

The philanthropic work of Morgan Hill based company Specialized Bicycle is carried out through a partnership with OUTRIDE, a nonprofit organization focused on improving youth health and well-being through cycling. OUTRIDE started 13-years ago with an initial focus on medical research to find a correlation between cycling and enhanced cognitive health. Since that time, programs and initiatives have been introduced into schools and over 50,000 youth have participated. The organization’s motto is “pedals not pills,” driving home the message that cycling can promote positive physical and mental capabilities without the use of pharmaceuticals.

Specialized Bicycle was one of five recipients of the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Beyond the Check Awards, receiving the award in the Health category. The awards honor companies that dedicate time, talent, technology and funding to support nonprofit partners.

“Morgan Hill’s residential pipeline has surpassed 3,000 units, one of the largest growth cycles in the city’s history, as the city pushes to become a more economically self-sustaining market, according to city data. Much of the development is concentrated in north Morgan Hill, where projects are closing the gap with San Jose and reshaping land use and density, city officials said.
