Park and arrive anywhere in 3-7 minutes

Park and arrive anywhere in 3-7 minutes

To improve customer access, parking turnover, and the overall visitor experience, the City recently designated 18 parking spaces as 20-minute short-term parking. These spaces, equating to 1.4% of total Downtown public parking spaces, are located on side streets closest to Monterey Road and can be identified through green curb markings, street demarcation, and “20-MIN” pole signage. The Morgan Hill Police Department will issue courtesy violations for all Downtown time-limited parking spaces through December. Violations with citations upwards of $46 will begin in January 2027.

The installation of these spaces is part of an overarching Downtown Parking Strategy designed to provide quick and convenient access for customers, support passenger pick-up/drop-off, and reduce traffic from food delivery activity while encouraging employees and business owners to utilize other available Downtown parking areas.

Over the next two years the City of Morgan Hill will update the current 2009 Downtown Specific Plan. The new plan, called the Greater Downtown Specific Plan, will extend the current Downtown boundaries north to Granada St., south to San Pedro Ave., and west to Galvan Park. This effort is funded by a Metropolitan Transportation Grant and focused on updates in four key areas: zoning density standards, affordable housing policy, parking management near Caltrain, station accessibility enhancement. Community outreach is underway and public feedback is valued and encouraged.
