Billions expected in Father's day purchases

The National Retail Federation estimates that approximately $27.9 billion dollars will be spent on Father’s Day purchases this year, a $3.9 billion dollar increase over 2025. The average customer is expected to spend $226 with top purchases being experiences, cards and clothing, with electronics and personal services following closely behind.

Uvas County Park grows by 95-acres

A 95-acre expansion of the Uvas Canyon County Park will pave the way for future recreational trail use and amenities. The result of a recent Santa Clara County Parks Department purchase, the additional land supports the Countywide Trail Masterplan which aims to grow the park to over 750 miles of regional, local, and connector trails.

Retailer receives Senate District 15 award

For decades Royal Clothiers has served as a retail landmark in Downtown Morgan Hill. From outfitting high schoolers for prom, to tailoring custom suits, to displaying the newest Tommy Bahama products, Royal Clothiers has excelled at pairing high-quality menswear with top-notch customer service. Owner Carlos Perez recently announced his impending retirement and hopes to sell the store to someone who will keep the legacy alive. In recognition of his contributions and community support, he was awarded the 2026 Senate District 15 Small Business of the Year award.

Painting the Spirit of a Place

For three days, accomplished artists from diverse locations across the state paint outdoors at a location of their choice, inside a 20-mile radius of Morgan Hill. The aim is to capture the region’s diverse landscapes while fostering its identity as a growing arts scene. Winning artworks from the 5th Annual Morgan Hill Plein Air Paint Out are now on exhibit through June 28 at the Downtown Morgan Hill CURA Contemporary Art Gallery.
