Train services expand in South County

Caltrain, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), and the Cities of Gilroy and Morgan Hill are thrilled to announce a significant enhancement to the weekday Caltrain service that will further strengthen the transportation network for South County residents. Starting Monday, September 25, a fourth train will be introduced to the Gilroy/Morgan Hill morning and evening weekday service, offering commuters greater flexibility and convenience when traveling by Caltrain.

Open-air shopping, live music and a car show

Come Downtown on Saturday, September 23 from 10 a.m.-4p.m. for a day of outdoor shopping, live music, kid’s zone and the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce Car Show. Shop 50+ South County makers and enjoy live music from Undercover 80’s, Lavender Fields, and the Mitchell James Band. Join us on 3rd street later that same evening at 8 p.m. for a FREE outdoor movie night featuring "Cars!" We are “revving up” for free-family friendly fun in Downtown Morgan Hill.

Shop small all Fall with Sidewalk Saturdays

The Fall Sidewalk Saturdays Season is in full swing! Now through November 25, meet local artists and retailers, and purchase custom one-of-a-kind gifts for everyone on your list.

Started in 2020 to support home-based and retail small businesses through the pandemic, Sidewalk Saturdays has morphed into a beloved community event embodying the Buy Local spirit. This popular maker’s market located on 3rd street in Downtown Morgan Hill, features anywhere from 15-25 vendors. Our 12-week seasons occur every Spring and Fall, between 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Independent hotel resumes Downtown construction

Independent hotel resumes Downtown construction

Hotel MOHI is a full-service luxury hotel in the heart of Downtown Morgan Hill on First Street and Monterey Road. Construction of the hotel was forced to stop during the COVID Pandemic due to tightening of lending markets. In 2022, to make the project more financially viable, the hotel was redesigned to accommodate a partial fifth floor and 13 additional rooms, for a total of 73 rooms. The MOHI hotel will include a spa, meeting facilities, and a market-hall restaurant. Hotel construction will resume shortly and is scheduled to be completed by December 2025.

Dog-gone Downtown takeover

Hundreds of Morgan Hill residents and dogs came Downtown on August 26 for the first ever Doggy Days of Summer event! Dogs enjoyed two agility courses, the splash zone, and participated in the pet contest. Patrons shopped 35+ dog-themed vendors and enjoyed live music from the Shand Band and MaryEllen & Thom. Kiddos enjoyed the bouncy house, lawn games, and EZPZ mobile gaming truck. There was something for everyone!
