The Bay Area Air Quality Management District is launching the 2021 Charge! Program which provides grant funding to offset the cost of purchasing and installing new publicly accessible chargers for light-duty electric vehicles (EVs) at workplaces, destinations, transit parking locations, along transportation corridors, and at multi-unit dwelling facilities

Colibri Art & Framing : A small gallery with a big vision

There is a new art gallery in Morgan Hill with a big vision. Colibri Art and Framing, has been transformed to include a new art gallery. The gallery features local Bay Area artists including, Jim Conway (Morgan Hill), Abigail Dunnivan (Gilroy), Nancy Takaichi (San Jose), Clark Mitchell (Petaluma), Hannah Skoonberg (East Bay) and artists from other parts of the country, including Aaron Cordell Johnson (Idaho) and Sara Sedwick (Oregon). All exhibiting artists were handpicked by Gallery Director Ellie Honl and are distinguished by a professional commitment to their artwork, national honors and awards, and inclusion in public and private collections.

Morgan Hill Supports Businesses and Community with Launch of Place-Branding Grant

Morgan Hill announced a Place-Branding Partnership Opportunity designed to support businesses and community through the COVID-19 pandemic. This is one of several business resiliency efforts supporting the City’s economic recovery plan to help with the beautification of outdoor dining spaces, activating vacant store fronts with temporary art, community announcements or businesses that may have lost their leases; and creating interesting ‘place-making’ street activations that will create a welcoming, fun and interesting environment.

Morgan Hill Approves an Economic Recovery Plan

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Morgan Hill has responded by developing an Economic Development Recovery plan.

On May 29, 2020, the City Manager and City Attorney announced actions exercising their discretion to ease enforcement of certain City regulations in order to encourage economic activity and to speed up recovery from the shelter in place orders.

Established in 1936, the Urban Land Institute (ULI) is a non-profit education and research institute with over 45,000 members across the globe-2,200 in the Bay Area. The mission of ULI is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating sustainable thriving communities worldwide. ULI has had a long history of providing unbiased, pragmatic solutions and best practice advice on land use and sustainable development.

One feature of ULI is its Technical Assistance Panels (TAP). ULI’s Technical Assistance Panels have helped sponsors identify strategic, practical solutions for the most challenging issues facing today’s communities through cultivating a multi-disciplinary team of local experts from ULI’s membership, who, together, collaborate to address a challenge.
