Michael Van Every Applauds Morgan Hill

Visionary Michael Van Every sees opportunity in transit-oriented mixed-use developments — outside of San Jose’s downtown core. Van Every is the President and Managing Partner of Republic Urban Properties, who completed an 83-unit apartment mixed-use complex in Downtown Morgan Hill in 2020. He commended Morgan Hill’s Economic Development, Planning, and City Manager’s offices for their commitment and expediency to supporting the Sunsweet Project every step of the way. Van Every said Morgan Hill is prepped for additional compact development and he will be keeping an eye out for future development opportunities.

Accessory Dwelling Units- What you need to know......

The City of Morgan Hill, along with the City of Gilroy, Guild Mortgage, and the CA Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) are hosting an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Grant Program Informational Webinar on Thursday, September 29th from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. If you have been considering building an ADU, live in Santa Clara County, and have a household income of up to $300,000. annually, then this webinar is for you!  The CalHFA ADU Grant provides up to $40,000 towards pre-development and non-reoccurring closing costs associated with the construction of an ADU. Predevelopment costs include site prep, architectural designs, permits, soil tests, impact fees, property survey, and energy reports.

First Farmworker Apartment Complex to Break Ground in Morgan Hill

On Thursday, August 11, the first affordable apartment housing project to offer dedicated farmworker housing in Santa Clara County will break ground in Morgan Hill. This apartment project is a 73-unit multi-family complex called Royal Oak Village.

Magnolia's Apartment Project to Include Farmworker Housing

The Magnolias Community is Morgan Hill's second rental project to include units specifically dedicated for farmworker housing. This multi-family rental community will feature 66-units and will be located at 17965 Monterey Road in Morgan Hill. With the City of Morgan Hill's existing apartment vacancy rate at 1%, the Magnolias provides affordable housing options to households earning 30% to 60% of the area median income (AMI), which for a family of four is $168,500. This project provides much needed affordable housing for agricultural workers and unhoused families.
