Manufacturer opens first U.S. factory in Morgan Hill

Scott’s Valley-based advanced power electronics manufacturer, Heron Power, will open their first large scale Factory One in Morgan Hill. The company plans to invest more than $100M into the 286,000 SF building located at 755 Jarvis, the prior warehouse distribution site of RNDC. Project completion and mass production of the Heron Link, a 5-megawatt medium-voltage power conversion system, is expected to take place late 2027. Factory One is expected to create 600 jobs and was made possible in part by the receipt of a California Competes Tax Credit in the amount of $26.4M.

Does your business qualify for a tax credit?

For the 2026-2027 fiscal year, a total of $819.8M in California Competes Tax Credits are available for allocation to businesses of all sizes and industry. For this upcoming round, opening on July 20, 2026, $350M in tax credits will be available and businesses within the “strengthen” and “accelerate” sector categories as outlined in the California Jobs First Economic Blueprint will be given special consideration. To learn more, register to attend one of the live webinars on July 22 or July 30. The deadline to submit applications is Monday, August 10, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

The California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC) is an income tax credit available to businesses that want to locate in California or stay and grow in California. Businesses of any industry, size, or location compete for over $180 million available in tax credits by applying in one of the three application periods each year. Applicants will be analyzed based on fourteen different factors of evaluation, including number of full-time jobs being created, amount of investment, and strategic importance to the state or region. City Councilmember honored as Woman of the Year

The California State Senate recognized Morgan Hill Mayor Pro Tem Yvonne Martínez Beltrán as Woman of the Year 2025 for Senate District 15 in a special ceremony on the Senate floor on Monday, March 10, 2025. Senator Dave Cortese selected Councilwoman Martínez Beltrán for this honor, acknowledging her dedication to public service, leadership, and commitment to the Community.
