Morgan Hill defines opportunity in practical terms: access to stable employment, attainable housing, education, entrepreneurship, and a community where residents feel represented. The City’s broader objective is to maintain a balanced local economy—aligning jobs, housing, and essential services to sustain long-term quality of life.
That objective is being advanced through ELEVATE Morgan Hill, the City’s Economic Mobility Plan. ELEVATE focuses on building clearer pathways to economic stability by connecting residents to local jobs and skill-building opportunities, expanding access to housing information and assistance programs, and increasing meaningful community engagement in local decision-making. Although the initiative serves the entire community, particular emphasis is being placed on improving access and outcomes for Spanish-speaking residents, who data show encounter disproportionate barriers to economic mobility.
The effort is led by the City’s Economic Opportunity Program Officer. The role centers on implementing data-driven, community-informed strategies, with prior experience spanning worker-owned cooperatives, entrepreneurship development, and intergenerational wealth initiatives.
