The City of Morgan Hill has completed a new battery storage and microgrid system at the Centennial Recreation Center, enhancing community resilience and sustainability. The system works alongside the existing solar infrastructure to reduce electricity costs and provide backup power during outages, ensuring the facility can operate as an emergency shelter when needed. The project was funded by a $200,000 grant from Silicon Valley Clean Energy and a $300,000 grant from CalOES. This investment reflects the City’s commitment to reliable, sustainable infrastructure that supports residents year-round.
