2019 Morgan Hill Wine Stroll Showcases Vibrant Downtown

By John Lang

The excitement was palpable during the Morgan Hill Wine Stroll on April 27, 2019. The Morgan Hill Downtown Association and the Wineries of Santa Clara Valley organized a memorable event that kicks off an exciting slate of Spring and Summer events this year.

Over 1500 people participated in the wine stroll on a perfect Spring day as they sampled wine from 23 wineries as they visited the many downtown restaurants and boutique shops. In addition to the great wine from across the region, 35 artists showcased their art and people were entertained by 10 musical performances, some that were from our own South Valley Orchestra. Visitors were also able to enjoy the newly renovated pop up park on 2nd and Monterey thanks to the hard work and contribution from Community Christian Church volunteers, the Rotary Club of Morgan Hill and the Morgan Hill Downtown Association.

The event was executed to perfection as it attracted visitors from across the entire Bay Area for a fun filled day and the ripple effects are already being felt in the business community. Some businesses are already reporting record sales during the wine stroll as the excitement continues to build around Morgan Hill’s energetic and on-the-rise downtown.

On the same day, the Morgan Hill economic development team hosted a reception to showcase what Morgan Hill has to offer as part of the “Choose Morgan Hill” campaign. The event was held at a recently renovated space at 17390 Monterey Road (and Second Street), featuring some cool additions to the Downtown scene, including Fifth Street Market for their made-in-Morgan-Hill apparel and Sycamore Creek for their Mo-Hi label. Realm Flowers enhanced the room with a colorful flower bouquet and Raina from The Secret Door read Tarot cards for adventurous guests.
